The five certificate statuses

Status vocabulary is fixed. It is never softened, renamed or rounded up — and any status other than VALID is published together with its administrative reason.

VALID
The certification is current. The certificate is within its validity period and no administrative restriction applies. Even so, the certified scope in the record defines what is actually certified — nothing beyond it.
SUSPENDED
The certification is temporarily invalid. While the suspension is in force, the certificate must not be presented as evidence of current certification in tenders, quotations or public statements. The record states the reason.
WITHDRAWN
The certification has been terminated. The organisation is no longer certified for the scope shown. The record states the reason and the date of the decision.
REDUCED
The certified scope has been reduced. Only the scope remaining in this record is certified; the removed part must not be claimed. The record states the reason.
EXPIRED
The validity period has ended. The certificate is no longer current. Recertification is a new decision based on new assessment — expiry is never extended by correspondence.
§ 02

What a record contains

  • Full legal entity name and corporate registration number of the certified client
  • The exact normative standard and version, e.g. ISO 9001:2015
  • Technical certified scope — the operational and industrial boundaries of the certification
  • Geographical scope — physical sites and operating jurisdictions covered
  • Cycle dates — initial registration, current cycle start, certificate expiry
  • Real-time status: VALID, SUSPENDED, WITHDRAWN, REDUCED or EXPIRED
  • Where status is not VALID, the stated reason — so the record cannot be misrepresented in tenders
